ICT for SmartGrids with DER: building the European Power System of Tomorrow

In a concerted effort to boost energy efficiency, ICT can enable the implementation of distributed energy resources (DER) in smart-grids.
This session is the joint initiative of two thematic networks – ICT4SMARTDG and SEESGEN-ICT – currently in progress under the ICT-PSP programme. Both share the goal of accelerating the deployment of ICT tools in smart-grids in order to integrate DER. The session will present these networks and encourage contacts between stakeholders so as to shape future projects and common ideas. The focus will be on the following ICT priorities: facilitating DER integration, promoting standardisation, creating consensus building and demonstrating implementation. The diverse target audience includes energy stakeholders and the ICT industry.
